Han studied chemistry for 7 years from 1993 to 2000 in Jilin University, for his bachelor and master degrees. After that, he moved to Tsinghua University where he was conferred doctor degree in the field of materials science and engineering in 2004. Immediately after his graduation, he went to Japan, Nagoya Institute of Technology and worked there as a postdoctoral researcher for more than 3 years. In 2007, he was awarded Alexander von Humboldt fellowship and went to Germany, Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces. In 2011, he took the professor position and joined in the Institute of Process Engineering, CAS. In 2023, he moved to Chongqing University. He has an intensive research interest in discovering the interface dynamics in heterogeneous reactions, for the rational synthesis of materials, the directional production of chemicals, the safe storage of energy. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers and filed 15 patents. He is the Executive Editor of Advanced Powder Technology and the editorial board members of Crystals and Scientific Reports etc. He won the first prize of natural science awards from the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China in 2019 and the Chinese Society of Particuology in 2018. He was the winner of the SCEJ Award for Outstanding Asian Researcher and Engineer in 2019.
