Zhang graduated from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in 2010 with a PhD degree in Pharmacy under the supervision of Prof. Yuehu Pei and Lijun Wu, both of whom are renowned natural pharmacologists; and Zhang studied at the University of Chicago, one of the top ten universities in the world, under the tutelage of Prof. Yuan Cunsu, an internationally renowned pharmacologist. Since 2010, he has been working at Chongqing University. Prof. Zhang’s research interests focus on the extraction and modification of natural products, solid phase extraction and microextraction as well as application research of natural products.
